Spain implements new housing strategies in Valencia and Ibiza

In the Valencian Community, the regional government is promoting industrialized construction to expand the supply of protected housing. This model aims to accelerate building timelines and improve efficiency and sustainability. As part of the ‘Plan Vive Dana’, designed to address housing needs following the October 2024 floods, over 200 industrialized homes have been promoted, with approximately 100 already underway in Torrent, Albal, and Utiel, involving an investment exceeding 21 million euros.

Meanwhile, in Ibiza, the first Strategic Residential Project (PRE) is currently being processed in the Ca n’Escandell area. The project, located in the Can Sant unit, plans for 306 total homes, of which 64% (196 units) are designated as protected housing. This initiative aims to address the housing deficit on the island through more agile urban planning procedures compared to other transition areas.
