Spain income data shows wealth concentration in Madrid neighborhoods
New data from the Spanish Tax Agency (Agencia Tributaria) regarding 2024 IRPF filings reveals significant income disparities across various municipalities and neighborhoods in Spain.
In Rivas, the average gross income rose by 5.6% to 41,885 euros. While this growth is substantial, the municipality dropped from 92nd to 95th place in the national ranking of municipalities with over 1,000 inhabitants, as other areas experienced faster growth. However, Rivas remains among the top 100 wealthiest municipalities and ranks 11th in income growth among towns with more than 50,000 residents.
At the neighborhood level, La Moraleja in Alcobendas (Madrid) remains the wealthiest area in Spain, with an average gross income of 235,556 euros, marking a nearly 20% increase from 2023. Other high-income areas include Ciudadcampo and Fuente del Fresno in San Sebastián de los Reyes. Conversely, Torreblanca in Seville was identified as the neighborhood with the lowest average income, at 11,560 euros.
