Spain intercepts 5,000‑kg cocaine shipment on Guadalquivir

Spanish authorities seized a cargo of 5,000 kilograms of cocaine that was being smuggled aboard a merchant vessel attempting to enter the country via the Guadalquivir River. The operation was carried out after investigators detected the trafficking method known as “micos,” which has been used in previous drug busts such as the “Marquesito” case and the “Clan de Los Futbolistas.” The large seizure prevents the shipment from reaching the domestic market and underscores ongoing efforts to combat narcotics trafficking in Spain.
