Spain issues food safety alerts for contaminated foie gras and undisclosed almond hazelnut praline

The Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition (AESAN) has issued a health alert after detecting Listeria monocytogenes in a batch of duck foie gras (lot L26029311821) imported from Bulgaria and sold under the Capdevila brand. The 40‑gram refrigerated blocks are marked for sale across multiple autonomous communities, and consumers experiencing vomiting, diarrhea or fever are advised to seek medical care.

A separate alert concerns Fun Cakes hazelnut praline filling that was found to contain undeclared almonds. The product, packaged in 325‑gram jars, was distributed initially to Asturias, Andalusia, the Valencian Community and Catalonia. People with almond allergies are urged not to consume the product and to discard any remaining units.
