Spain launches Auto+ Program to subsidize electric vehicles

The Spanish Government has approved the regulations for the Auto+ Program, a new initiative designed to accelerate the electrification of transport and meet national and European climate objectives. The program, part of the Plan España Auto 2030, will remain in effect until December 31, 2030.

The program is structured into two main lines of assistance. Line 1 is intended for individuals not engaged in economic activities, providing subsidies for new or used electric vehicles (up to twelve months old) registered in Spain. Line 2 targets businesses and self-employed individuals, allowing for vehicle ownership, financial leasing, or renting with a minimum three-year duration.

The maximum subsidy amount per beneficiary will be determined by the type of vehicle, its level of electrification, its price, and its contribution to the industrial value chain. The first call for applications is open until December 31 at 14:00 hours.
