Spain launches new sociosanitary care training programs

New vocational training programs focusing on sociosanitary care for dependent individuals have been announced in Spain to address growing labor demand in the care sector.

In Tui, the Municipal Training Center in Guillarei will host a course on “Sociosanitary Care at Home” from September 21 to November 4. Organized by the company Idades in collaboration with the municipal administration, the 150-hour program includes 100 hours of theory and 50 hours of practical experience in a professional environment. Local officials emphasized that the training is designed to provide real opportunities for labor market integration.

In Aguilar de Campoo, Palencia, the Tercera Actividad center has opened a new call for a program titled “Sociosanitary Care for Dependent Persons in Social Institutions.” Funded by the Junta de Castilla y León, this edition runs from October to March. The program offers full-time training contracts with social security contributions and a monthly salary equal to 100% of the minimum wage. Previous editions have reported a job placement rate of approximately 70% in residential or home care settings.
