Spain leads European tourism with 322 million overnight stays

Data from the European Economic and Social Committee reveals the leading tourism destinations within the European Union for 2025. Spain maintains its position as the top destination with over 322 million overnight stays from international visitors. Italy follows in second place with approximately 254 million overnight stays, while France and Greece rank third and fourth, respectively, with 140.61 million and 128.18 million stays.

Other notable destinations include Austria with 94 million overnight stays, followed by Croatia and Germany, which both recorded approximately 85 million. In contrast, Romania recorded 4.94 million overnight stays, trailing behind destinations such as Malta and Finland.
