Spain: Minimum services set for Renfe strike on November 10 and 12

The Spanish Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility has established minimum service levels for the Renfe strike scheduled for November 10 and 12. The strike has been called by the Spanish Railway Drivers Union (Semaf).

Minimum services for high-speed and long-distance trains are set at 72%. Medium-distance services will operate at an average of 65%, while freight services are limited to 20% of the scheduled service.

Commuter services (Cercanías) will vary by time of day: 75% during peak hours (06:00 to 09:00, 13:30 to 15:30, and 18:30 to 20:30) and 50% during all other times.

In a related development, the low-cost operator Ouigo announced it will operate 18 of its 26 scheduled trains on November 11. To mitigate the impact, Ouigo is offering affected passengers a choice between a full refund or a free date change, plus an additional 50% compensation of the ticket cost.
