Spain mortgage market: Fixed-rate offers rise as Euribor climbs
As the Euribor reaches 3.247%, its highest level since July 2024, fixed-rate mortgages are becoming increasingly attractive compared to variable-rate loans. The Organization of Consumers and Users (OCU) notes that a rise in the Euribor can increase monthly payments by up to 56 euros for a 100,000 euro variable mortgage over 20 years.
To provide stability, the OCU has highlighted three competitive fixed-rate mortgage offers in Spain. Openbank offers a 2.90% TIN (3.32% TAE) requiring payroll direct deposit and home insurance. BBVA provides a 2.85% TIN (3.53% TAE), and Abanca offers a 3.25% TIN (3.74% TAE). All three selected options feature no opening commissions, though they require different consumer commitments.
