Nico Williams leaves Spain national team camp due to injury
Nico Williams has left the Spanish national team camp due to a muscular injury in his left thigh. The Athletic Club forward sustained the injury during Spain’s 4-1 victory against Croatia in the UEFA Nations League. Following medical evaluations by the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), it was determined that Williams would not participate in the remaining international fixtures, including upcoming matches against the Czech Republic and Croatia.
Williams is not the only player to depart the squad during this international window. Alejandro Grimaldo, the Atlético de Madrid defender, has also been released from the camp due to muscular issues. He is joined by Eric García, who previously left due to knee problems. To address the absences, manager Luis de la Fuente has called upon Fran García from Real Betis to provide depth at left-back.
Financial analysts at FutbolFinanzas noted that Williams' recent injury history has impacted his market valuation, which has dropped to approximately 13.91 million euros according to their metrics, citing physical capacity as a significant factor.
