Spain launches Verano Joven 2026 travel discounts for youth

The Spanish government activated the Verano Joven 2026 programme on 1 July, offering youths aged 18‑30 up to 90 % off bus and medium‑distance train tickets and 50 % on high‑speed, Avant and Interrail fares. The scheme, funded with €130 million, covers travel within Spain and Europe; participants must register online and receive a personal code.

Renfe added extra perks, including free‑ticket codes for completing two summer trips and a discounted Más Renfe Joven card for frequent travellers.

Separately, the Bono Cultural Joven 2026 grants €400 to 18‑year‑olds for cultural purchases or courses, with applications open until 31 Oct.

In Castilla‑La Mancha, the regional government announced €850 000 in Becas de Internacionalización for 45 young people, providing training in international business and marketing between 1 July and 17 July.
