Spain opens electoral census consultation for 2026 general elections
Municipalities across Spain have opened the public consultation period for the provisional electoral census ahead of the general elections scheduled for November 29, 2026. From October 12 to October 19, citizens can review their registration data, voting locations, and assigned tables to ensure accuracy.
In various regions, including Valencia, Canary Islands, Navarra, Alcalá de Henares, Guadalajara, Talavera de la Reina, and Terrassa, residents are encouraged to verify their information, particularly those who have recently moved or are voting for the first time. Discrepancies or omissions can be addressed through formal claims submitted to local town halls or the National Statistics Institute (INE) during this window.
Methods for consultation vary by municipality but generally include online access via the INE electronic office, telephone services, or in-person visits to municipal offices. In Navarra, for instance, the census includes 537,194 electors, with over 36,000 residing abroad. Once claims are resolved, the definitive census will be established to guarantee the reliability of the upcoming democratic process.
