Madridejos and Elvas-Badajoz launch popular road races in Spain

The 32nd Popular Race "Villa de Madridejos" will take place on Sunday 6 September 2026 in Madridejos, Toledo. Runners will cover a 6.8‑km urban circuit, starting at 10:00 h from the Plaza del Ayuntamiento. Registration for the absolute category costs €8 and closes on 4 September 2026; junior categories are free. The event includes a well‑attended children’s "chupetines" race.

The 37th Elvas‑Badajoz Half Marathon is scheduled for 15 November. The 21.097‑km cross‑border course begins at the Parque da Piedade in Elvas (Portugal) at 10:30 h (Spanish time) and finishes on Avenida de Huelva in Badajoz (Spain). Up to 2 000 bibs are available, with registrations open until midnight on 6 November. The race is organized by the Fundación Municipal de Deportes of the Badajoz City Council together with the Câmara Municipal of Elvas, attracting participants from Spain, Portugal and other countries.
