Spain prepares to host XXX Ibero-American Summit in Madrid

Spain is preparing to host the XXX Ibero-American Summit in Madrid on November 4 and 5. The Spanish government has already received official confirmation from ten heads of state and expressed optimism regarding the attendance of leaders from the 22 member countries.

The summit aims to avoid the low attendance seen at the previous meeting in Cuenca, Ecuador, which was attended by only a few leaders. While the government is optimistic, some absences are anticipated, such as Nicaragua and potentially Panama due to national holidays. The Spanish government is also monitoring the potential participation of leaders like Javier Milei of Argentina, Nayib Bukele of El Salvador, and Claudia Sheinbaum of Mexico.
