Spain records two fatal traffic collisions in Barcelona and Talayuela
A 77‑year‑old man was killed in a traffic accident on the Ronda del Litoral in Barcelona on the morning of 27 July 2026. The crash occurred at kilometre‑12 of the Llobregat route near Morrot, prompting emergency services and the Guardia Urbana to close the road and remove the vehicle before traffic was restored. This death marks the tenth traffic‑related fatality in Barcelona for 2026, a figure close to the total recorded in the previous year.
On the same day, a 67‑year‑old woman, a resident of Barcelona with strong ties to Rosalejo in Extremadura, died after a front‑lateral collision on the CG‑9 near Talayuela. Five occupants were in one car and at least two in the other; six people were injured, including a 69‑year‑old man hospitalized with contusions. The accident led local authorities to suspend a scheduled concert in Rosalejo while the Guardia Civil investigates the cause.
