Spain records two serious traffic collisions with multiple injuries
A severe crash occurred at the Plaza de Castilla roundabout in Oviedo when a Hyundai driver lost control, struck a garden island and collided with a billboard. The two vehicle occupants suffered head injuries, one classified as serious, and were taken to Hospital Universitario Central de Asturias for assessment. Police redirected traffic and emergency services cleared the scene.
Later the same afternoon, a front‑side collision between two cars on the N‑550 near Vilaboa left two people injured, one seriously. The accident blocked the road and caused traffic delays of over a kilometre. Emergency responders, including police, medical ambulances, firefighters and the Civil Guard, attended the site. A separate truck collision on the PO‑531 near Meis also resulted in one injured driver.
Both incidents prompted road closures, traffic diversions and investigations by local authorities.
