Spain regional authorities expand employment and self-employed subsidies

Regional authorities in Spain are implementing various subsidy programs to bolster employment and support small businesses. In Castilla-La Mancha, the regional government has increased its budget for permanent hiring incentives to 4.9 million euros. This expansion aims to facilitate approximately 160 new permanent contracts, offering up to 7,500 euros per full-time position. The program specifically targets vulnerable groups, including the long-term unemployed, individuals over 45, and underrepresented profiles such as women in technology.

In the province of Cuenca, the Diputación de Cuenca has distributed 122,000 euros in provincial aid to 58 self-employed workers and micro-enterprises in the Mancha Baja region. These funds are intended for machinery acquisition and operational expenses to support rural entrepreneurship. The province reported a slight growth in the number of self-employed workers as of June 2026, marking five consecutive months of increase.
