Catalonia reports fatal motorcycle accidents and shooting injury

Several incidents in Catalonia have resulted in fatalities and injuries. In Figueres, a woman was seriously injured after being struck in the head by a bullet, likely from a celebratory shot fired into the air. The Mossos d'Esquadra are investigating the incident, which occurred during a local celebration in the Bon Pastor neighborhood. While the victim underwent emergency surgery and is out of danger, the event has highlighted concerns regarding firearm proliferation in the region.

Road safety remains a critical issue, with two fatal motorcycle accidents occurring over a single weekend in the Girona province. One accident involved a collision between a car and a motorcycle on the C-65 near Girona, killing a 50-year-old man. A second accident occurred on the C-260 in Castelló d'Empúries, involving a collision between two motorcycles that also resulted in a fatality. These incidents bring the total number of road deaths in Catalonia this year to 98.

Additionally, a multi-vehicle collision involving four cars on the B-20 in Barcelona left 13 people injured, including two who required hospital transport for more serious injuries.
