Spain and Guatemala report significant traffic updates

In Spain, the Dirección General de Tráfico (DGT) has announced a reinforcement of speed controls, including the deployment of five new radars in Albacete, Segovia, and Soria. These devices include section radars that measure average speed over a distance. Violations can result in fines between 100 and 600 euros and the loss of up to six driving points. Additionally, the summer operation concluded with 240 road fatalities, a 4% increase compared to the previous year, despite a 12% decrease in deaths among vulnerable users like pedestrians and motorcyclists.

In Guatemala, authorities expect significant traffic movement during the upcoming national holidays from September 10 to 15. Approximately two million people are expected to move through Guatemala City for independence celebrations. While organizers of a planned march by the 48 Cantones state they do not intend to block roads, officials advise caution due to potential congestion and the use of alternative routes.
