Spain secures bronze in women's basketball World Cup

The Spanish women's national basketball team secured the bronze medal at the World Cup by defeating host nation Germany 81-58. This marks the team's fourth medal in a world championship competition during the 21st century. Carlos Martínez Rubio, the performance manager for the Spanish Basketball Federation, played a key role in managing player workloads and physical readiness despite the challenge of preparing players who had not played official matches recently and the absence of WNBA-based players.

In wheelchair basketball, the Spanish women's team was eliminated from the World Cup after a 75-38 loss to the Netherlands. They will face Japan in an attempt to compete for fifth place. Veteran player Vicky Vilariño, an alumna of the Amfiv club, is participating in her third World Cup. The Spanish men's wheelchair basketball team also exited the tournament in the quarterfinals following a 70-66 loss to Australia.
