Spain seeks final 25.8 billion euros in EU recovery funds
Spain is approaching the deadline to request the final installment of the Next Generation European funds. The government has until September 30 to submit a request to Brussels for the remaining 25,862 million euros.
This final disbursement consists of 21,462 million euros in transfers and 4,400 million euros in loans. The request depends on the evaluation of 148 milestones and objectives established within the Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan (PRTR). To date, Spain has already received 78,000 million euros, representing 76.5% of the 102,000 million euros total allocated to the country under the Recovery and Resilience Facility.
Minister of Economy, Commerce, and Enterprise Carlos Cuerpo has confirmed that the application will be submitted by the end of the month. Following the submission, the European Commission must assess compliance before authorizing the funds.
