Spain sees summer reopening of notable restaurant and historic castle

Asador Don Joaquín, a celebrated Andalusian restaurant known for its traditional lamb, piglet and goat dishes cooked in a clay oven, resumed operations on 1 August after a two‑month seasonal pause. The establishment, located in the Valle del Guadalhorce, has used the break to refine its culinary philosophy, update its facilities and consolidate its reputation as a leading dining venue in the region.

Meanwhile, the medieval Castle of Don Juan Manuel in Cifuentes, Spain, opened to visitors after a comprehensive restoration funded by NextGeneration EU and the Alcarria Literaria programme. The €700,000 project reinforced the structure, improved lighting and restored interior spaces, allowing public tours throughout August.

Both reopenings aim to boost local tourism and cultural heritage appreciation during the summer months.
