Spain floods leave seven injured and 300 evacuated

Torrential rainfall has struck northeastern Spain, causing widespread flooding and leaving at least seven people injured. The most severe incident occurred in the port of Roda de Berà, approximately 75 kilometers southwest of Barcelona, where a wall collapse injured three people, one of whom is reported to be in critical condition.

Emergency services responded to approximately 200 incidents, including rescuing individuals trapped in vehicles by rising floodwaters. In the coastal town of El Vendrell, water levels exceeded half a meter. Other affected areas include Coma-Ruga and Torredembarra.

Due to the risk of further collapses and flooding, authorities evacuated roughly 300 people from a local campsite, with about 100 individuals finding temporary shelter in a municipal gymnasium. Local meteorological services reported extreme rainfall, with some areas in Catalonia recording over 200 liters per square meter within a few hours.
