Spain strengthens business tourism through MICE industry initiatives
Spain is strengthening its position in the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) sector through key regional initiatives and international networking events.
In Ibiza, the VI edition of the Ibiza MICE Summit is scheduled for October 16, 2026. Vicent Marí, president of the Spain Convention Bureau and Consell d’Eivissa, will participate in a roundtable titled ‘From the event to the impact.’ The summit aims to address how large-scale events generate value, promote seasonal de-concentration, and foster sustainable growth for destinations.
Simultaneously, Catalonia is enhancing its business tourism appeal through EVENTS Days Catalunya, an initiative organized by Groupe Meet&Com. This program connects French event planners with Spanish hospitality providers, hotels, and convention bureaux. By facilitating structured business appointments and destination experiences, the initiative seeks to solidify Catalonia’s role as a premier European hub for corporate meetings and international events.
