Spain to face England at Wembley in Nations League opener

Spain's national football team will make its UEFA Nations League debut against England on September 26, 2026, at Wembley Stadium. The match serves as the opening fixture for Group A3 in League A, alongside Croatia and the Czech Republic.

Coming off a 2026 World Cup victory against Argentina, the Spanish squad enters the competition as reigning world champions. The match also marks the first competitive appearance for manager Luis de la Fuente following the World Cup triumph. The encounter is a rematch of the Euro 2024 final and carries significant weight as Spain seeks to maintain its historic unbeaten run.

Discussions regarding Spain's greatest era have resurfaced following their recent success. Analysts are comparing the current 2024-26 squad, which won Euro 2024 and the 2026 World Cup, against the historic 2008-2012 team that achieved three consecutive major tournament titles.
