Spain tourism highlights nature and heritage in Ibiza and Tarifa

Various cultural and natural tourism activities are being highlighted across Spanish destinations like Ibiza and Tarifa to encourage visitors to explore beyond popular beaches.

In Ibiza, visitors can engage in birdwatching at the Ses Salines Natural Park, a site hosting over 210 species including flamingos. The area also features the Sant Francesc de s’Estany Interpretation Center, which details the history of salt production. Additionally, the island is introducing one of the Mediterranean's first hotels equipped with a marine conservation center.

In Tarifa, September offers opportunities to visit historical sites such as the Castillo de Guzmán el Bueno, which will host the painting exhibition ‘Mar de muros, mar de vida’ until September 27. Travelers can also visit the Baelo Claudia archaeological site in Bolonia to explore Roman ruins, with adjusted visiting hours starting late September.
