Spain tourism hits record levels with 58.1 million visitors

Spain has experienced significant growth in international tourism, with data from the National Statistics Institute (INE) showing that 58.1 million international tourists visited the country during the first seven months of the year. This represents a 4.6% increase compared to the same period last year, driving total international spending to over €82.05 billion, a 7.8% rise.

In July alone, Spain welcomed 11.5 million international travelers, up 4.6% year-on-year, with spending reaching approximately €18.218 billion. The United Kingdom remains the primary source market, contributing 11.5 million visitors between January and July, followed by France and Germany.

Within the Comunidad Valenciana region, July reached record levels for both arrivals and expenditure. The region welcomed 1,634,084 international tourists, a 9.5% increase, with spending rising 11.6% to €2.475 billion. Average spending per tourist in the region reached €1,515, while the average stay was 9.9 days.
