Spain transitions to winter time
Spain has officially transitioned to winter time following the scheduled clock change on the last Sunday of October. At 03:00, clocks were set back one hour to 02:00, marking the end of daylight saving time until the spring.
The shift results in earlier sunrises and earlier sunsets across the country. While digital devices such as mobile phones and computers update automatically, manual adjustments may be required for items like ovens, bedside alarms, and car clocks.
Daylight patterns vary by location due to Spain's geographic position. In Madrid, sunrise occurs around 07:40 with sunset near 18:15, whereas in Vigo, sunrise is later at approximately 08:00 and sunset occurs around 18:35.
