Spain travel advice upgraded to yellow amid wildfires

The Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs has changed its travel advisory for Spain to yellow because of ongoing wildfire activity in southern Europe. The warning says travel is still permitted, but travelers should be aware of heightened risks such as road closures, poor air quality and possible evacuations. Visitors are advised to monitor local news, weather forecasts and follow the instructions of local authorities before and during their stay.

The Dutch travel industry organization ANVR confirmed that the yellow advisory does not prevent trips to Spain. It noted that most holidays can proceed as planned, but travelers should remain alert to local conditions. Similar wildfire threats are affecting parts of France, Portugal and Italy, leading to occasional disruptions.

Both agencies stress that the situation can change rapidly with high temperatures and strong winds, urging tourists to stay informed and follow official guidance.
