Spain travel prices dip as August flights fall up to 32% and cruises match hotel costs

Data from travel search engine KAYAK show that flight fares for August 2026 are up to 32% lower than the same period a year earlier. In Spain, the cheapest domestic routes are from Santander, Bilbao and Sevilla with round‑trip averages below €135, while international routes to Milan, Lisbon and Porto average under €110. Other cities with notable drops include Warsaw, Sofia, Jakarta, London and Krakow. KAYAK’s European commercial director Natalia Díez‑Rivas said the data confirms that even in peak season there is room to find good deals on both domestic and international flights.

A separate analysis by cruise specialist Kruceros.com compares the total cost of a typical seven‑night hotel vacation in Spain, estimated at €942 per person, with cruise offers on the Mediterranean that start at €883 per person (including full board, taxes and tips). The hotel cost breakdown assumes €68.55 per night for accommodation plus meals, transport and basic leisure, totaling €134.55 per day. By contrast, the cruise price works out to €126.14 per night per person, making cruises a potentially cheaper alternative for Spanish travelers seeking a week‑long holiday.
