Spain unveils 100 million-euro annual housing plan as PP promotes 4,700 homes in Canary Islands

Spain's government unveiled a housing package worth 100 million euros per year aimed at improving access to housing for young people and other vulnerable groups. The plan includes rental subsidies, expansion of public housing, and rehabilitation of the housing stock. Economist Benito Arruñada questioned the plan's scope and real effectiveness, noting concerns about its impact on the housing market.

Separately, the Partido Popular mobilized its municipal networks to announce the promotion of more than 4,700 homes over two years across the Canary Islands as part of the II Plan Municipios Activos. Manuel Domínguez presented the plan, which aims to address housing shortages through an affordable-housing model and to respond to the growing use of caravans, motorhomes and campers.
