Spain unveils new tourism attractions in Ponferrada and Oropesa del Mar

The Ponferrada town council, led by Deputy Mayor Iván Alonso, has launched a free summer programme of theatrical tours through the historic centre. The performances, staged by the Compañía del Canal, guide visitors through key streets while actors portray historical figures and fictional characters, offering an educational and entertaining way to experience the city’s heritage. The tours run on select Wednesdays in July and August, start at 20:00 in Plaza del Ayuntamiento, and last about an hour.

In Oropesa del Mar, the Pontiana Thalasso Hotel was officially opened by Valencian Tourism Minister Marián Cano. The hotel, part of the Magic World Resort complex developed by Magic Hotel Group and Grupo Fuertes, focuses on wellness and thalassotherapy services. Officials highlighted the project as a new economic engine for the coastal town and a strategic asset for the province of Castellón, aiming to position the region as a reference destination for high‑quality, sustainable tourism.
