Spain vehicle inspection fees show major regional price disparities

A study by FACUA reveals significant regional disparities in vehicle technical inspection (ITV) costs across Spain. Castilla y León ranks as one of the most expensive regions, with gasoline vehicle inspections costing approximately 47 euros, placing it third highest behind the Basque Country and Cantabria.

In contrast, Mallorca offers the most affordable rates in the country for gasoline cars and motorcycles. In Mallorca, gasoline vehicle inspections cost 17.01 euros, representing a 225% difference compared to the highest rates. Diesel vehicle costs in Mallorca are also among the lowest at 30.92 euros, similar to Menorca.

Nationally, the average cost for gasoline vehicles is 39.18 euros and 46.09 euros for diesel. While many regions have seen price increases, Mallorca, Andalusia, Catalonia, and the Valencian Community have maintained frozen rates for 2026.
