Spain visa appointments in UAE now require self‑booking, agents banned

BLS International, the authorised service provider for Spanish visa applications in the United Arab Emirates, has introduced a new self‑booking system for Spain visa appointments. The system links each appointment to the applicant’s passport number and personal data, and strictly prohibits the use of travel agents or any third‑party intermediaries. Bookings made through unauthorised channels will be rejected at visa application centres.

The new platform is free of charge and incorporates liveness‑detection technology that has already blocked over 700,000 automated booking attempts across the countries where BLS operates. Applicants are warned not to pay for “earlier” appointments or guaranteed processing, and any such requests should be reported via official complaint channels. The changes also tighten formatting requirements for employer‑issued No‑Objection and salary certificates and require spouses of European Economic Area and EU citizens to pre‑book appointments rather than walk in.

Visa decisions remain the sole responsibility of Spain’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and applicants who receive a refusal may appeal directly to the Spanish Embassy without needing a prior appointment.
