Spain Vocational Training enrollment reaches historic high

Vocational Training (FP) in Spain is experiencing significant growth, reaching a historic milestone with 1,211,062 students enrolled for the 2025-2026 academic year. This represents a 2.5% increase compared to the previous year, with growth observed across basic, intermediate, and higher levels.

Specialization courses have seen a particularly sharp rise, increasing by 17.7% with approximately 10,000 students. The educational system facilitates academic progression, with a high percentage of students moving from basic to intermediate and intermediate to higher degrees.

The tourism and hospitality sector remains a key driver for this training, supporting a workforce of 3 million affiliates in Spain. Vocational programs in this field include various technical degrees in areas such as gastronomy, restaurant services, tourism management, and event planning. These programs combine theoretical modules with practical training, often utilizing a dual modality that splits learning between educational centers and companies.
