Spain weather: Polar air causes significant temperature drop

Spain is experiencing a significant shift in weather patterns as polar air moves into the peninsula, causing temperatures to drop sharply after a period of extreme heat. In regions such as Castilla-La Mancha, specifically in Tomelloso, temperatures are expected to remain moderate with a maximum of 27 degrees Celsius and no precipitation expected.

The temperature decline will be most pronounced in the interior, northern, and western parts of the country. Areas including Castilla y León, the interior of Galicia, Asturias, Cantabria, and central Spain may see minimum temperatures falling below 10 degrees Celsius during the early hours of Friday. While cities like Madrid, Lugo, and Vitoria may see lows between 11 and 13 degrees, the Mediterranean coast will remain warmer, with cities like Alicante and Barcelona staying above 25 degrees.

While most of the country cools down, AEMET maintains heat alerts for Andalusia, Aragon, Catalonia, and the Valencian Community. Additionally, Galicia faces alerts for rain and potential storms, while Cantabria is expected to experience strong wind gusts.
