Spain wine exports decline in volume and value for 2025-2026 campaign

Spain's wine and wine product exports for the 2025-2026 campaign saw a decline in both volume and value. According to data from the State Agency for Tax Administration, the country exported 23.7 million hectoliters, representing a 13% decrease in volume compared to the previous period. Total export value reached 3.274 billion euros, a 7.2% reduction. Despite these declines, the average price of exported products rose by 6.6%, partially offsetting the loss in volume.

Specific categories faced varying impacts. Must exports dropped by 24.4% in volume and 16% in value. Wine exports also declined, with volume falling by 9.5%, largely driven by a reduction in bulk wine sales.

In the Valencian region, 14.2 million euros in aid from the Wine Sector Intervention has been allocated to boost competitiveness and modernize operations. These funds, supported by the European Agricultural Guarantee Fund, aim to finance 76 investment projects totaling 36.53 million euros. The initiatives cover winery modernization, vineyard restructuring, and international promotion.
