Spain wins bronze at Women's Basketball World Cup

The Spanish women's national basketball team secured the bronze medal at the FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup in Berlin, defeating Germany with a score of 81-58. This marks Spain's fourth world championship medal and 17th overall.

Twenty-year-old Iyana Martín emerged as a standout performer throughout the tournament. In the bronze medal match, she recorded 22 points, nine assists, and four rebounds. Her tournament performance, which averaged 17.5 points per game, earned her a spot on the FIBA All-Tournament Team and the ‘Rising Star’ award.

Spanish head coach Miguel Méndez was also recognized by FIBA as the tournament's best coach. The victory highlights a successful period for the Spanish squad, which featured a mix of veteran leadership and emerging talent.
