Spain wins Wheelchair Handball World Championship

Spain has won the 4th Wheelchair Handball World Championship held at the Palau d'Esports. The Spanish national team secured the title after defeating Japan 2-1 in a closely contested final.

Spain's path to the championship included a group stage victory against Libya and a loss to France, followed by wins against Brazil in the quarterfinals and Chile in the semifinals. In the semifinal against Chile, Lorenzo Edjang scored the decisive goal to secure Spain's first-ever appearance in a World Championship final.

Key performers for the Spanish side included Lorenzo Edjang, who scored 12 goals, and Agustín Alejos, who contributed 10 goals. The tournament podium was completed by Portugal, which took third place after defeating Chile in the consolation final.
