Spain wins silver at 100 km World Championships

At the IAU 100 km World Championships held in Ames, Spain, the Spanish women's team secured the silver medal in the team classification with a total time of 22 hours and 20 minutes. Gemma Arenas earned the individual bronze medal, setting a new Spanish national record and a W45 world record with a time of 7:17:50. Her teammate Estefanía Unzu finished in sixth place.

In the men's competition, American Charlie Lawrence claimed the world title with a time of 6:09:25. He was followed by Lithuania's Aleksandr Sorokin in second place and Britain's Álex Milne in third. The top-performing Spanish male, Carlos Gazapo, finished in tenth position.
