Spain's AESAN issues alerts over fish in supplement and Listeria in fresh cheese

The Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition (AESAN) has warned people with fish allergies that several batches of the dietary supplement “NDL Pro‑Health Articulations” contain fish protein despite the product not being labelled as such. The alert covers all 30‑capsule packs of the NDL Pro‑Health brand that were initially distributed to the autonomous communities of Andalusia, Balearic Islands, Catalonia, Cantabria, Castilla‑La Mancha, Castilla y León, Valencia, Extremadura, Galicia, Madrid and Murcia, with possible wider redistribution. AESAN advises anyone with a fish allergy to discard the product; it poses no risk to the general population.

In a separate notice, AESAN has ordered the immediate withdrawal of several lots of fresh cheese found to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. Consumers are instructed not to eat the affected cheese and to seek medical attention if they develop symptoms of listeriosis.

Both alerts were communicated through the rapid‑exchange information system to ensure removal of the products from retail channels.
