Spain’s Altea fireworks and Sitges music festival attract thousands this summer
The Castell de l’Olla fireworks display celebrated its 40th anniversary on the beach of Altea on August 8, with platforms floating off the sea and thousands of spectators gathering to watch a choreography of light, sound and colour. The event, now a major cultural highlight of the Valencian Community, marks four decades of tradition and technical innovation.
Meanwhile, the ninth edition of the Festival Terramar CaixaBank opened in Sitges on July 31, headlined by singer‑songwriter Sílvia Pérez Cruz. Running until August 12, the festival features twelve concerts with artists such as Sergio Dalma, Joan Dausà, Earth, Wind & Fire Experience, and a tribute to Michael Jackson, and has already sold about 75 % of its 28 000‑seat capacity. Both events underscore the summer cultural calendar in Catalonia and the Valencian Community, drawing visitors from across Spain and abroad.
