Spain's Andalusia faces investiture deadline as PP‑Vox talks stall; Castilla y León plans post‑summer institutional rev

In Andalusia, acting President Juanma Moreno has set a July 29 deadline for the regional investiture negotiations between the People's Party (PP) and Vox. Parliament President Jesús Aguirre will propose Moreno as candidate and schedule a plenary vote as early as next week. Vox has warned it will not abstain and will vote “no” if its demands on ministries and policy measures are not met, threatening a blockage of the government formation.

Meanwhile, the Cortes of Castilla y León have scheduled a plenary session for June 30, during which Prosecutor Tomás Quintana will present the 2025 annual report. The parliament also confirmed that the renewal of several autonomous institutions – the Council of Accounts, the Prosecutor of the Common, the Economic and Social Council and the Consultative Council – will commence after the summer, following agreements between the PP and PSOE groups.
