Spain's Audiencia Nacional authorizes deportation of Moroccan national
Spain's Audiencia Nacional has authorized the deportation of a Moroccan national, rejecting an urgent request to suspend his removal from the country. The individual had claimed in July that his life was in “peligro inminente de muerte” (imminent danger of death) if returned to Morocco, alleging persecution and physical aggression, including the amputation of a finger.
In its decision, the court noted that the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) reported the individual did not appear to require international protection. The court also found the claims of persecution lacked credibility. The Ministry of the Interior had previously denied his request for international protection following an order for his detention in a Madrid foreign national detention center.
