Spain's Bilbao film festival and national cinema discount week attract audiences

The Caostica 24 festival in Bilbao wrapped up with the ECPV – Escuela de Cine del País Vasco presenting the ECPV award for Best Spanish Short Film, highlighting experimental and diverse short‑form cinema and supporting emerging filmmakers.

From 8 to 11 June, the Fiesta del Cine promotion will run in roughly 330 Spanish cinemas, offering tickets for €3.50 without prior accreditation. Organized by FEDICINE, FECE and the Ministry of Culture, the initiative comes as cinema attendance in Spain rose 36 % between January and May, marking the strongest start to the year since 2019.
