Spain's Bullfighting Festivals Highlight Novillada Performances

The annual "Promesas de Nuestra Tierra" festival took place in Arenas de San Juan, Castilla‑La Mancha, under the patronage of Castilla‑La Mancha Media and entrepreneur Manuel Amador. Bullfighters Óscar Campos, Álvaro Castillo and Israel Aparicio Romero delivered notable renditions, with Campos earning a prize ear and Aparicio receiving commendations for his handling of the novillo.

In Sevilla, a novillada held on 11 June 2026 showcased emerging toreros Nacho Torrejón, Manuel Olivero, and Sergio Rollón. Torrejón secured an ear award, while Olivero earned applause for his muleta work despite a missed stab. Rollón’s performance was less successful, ending in silence. The event featured a roster of young bullfighters and a mix of strong and weak novillos, drawing local spectators to the traditional bullring setting.
