Spain's camper market expands with rising registrations and model comparisons
Registrations of new campers and motorhomes in Spain rose by more than 25% year‑on‑year in June, reaching 893 units, according to data released by the Spanish Caravaning Industry Association (Aseicar. The increase was driven primarily by a surge in camper registrations.
At the same time, enthusiasts are comparing compact and larger motorhome options. The compact Volkswagen California Ocean, based on a Roadsurfer conversion, is praised for its agility, low fuel consumption and ease of parking, though it lacks an internal bathroom. The larger Weinsberg CaraBus 540 MQ, built on a Fiat Ducato chassis, offers a full bathroom, shower and a fixed rear bed, but requires raising the roof for standing height and is less discreet on the road.
