Spain's Cantabria and Melilla host summer sailing and water‑sports courses
In Cantabria, the Real Federación Cántabra de Vela launched its 2026 summer sailing programme on the Isla de la Torre. Backed by a subsidy from the Government of Cantabria, the campaign welcomed around 500 pupils from more than a dozen schools for a series of sessions that included sea baptisms, multi‑day water‑sports training and special activities for vulnerable children.
Meanwhile, the Real Club Marítimo de Melilla concluded a summer promotion that offered multidisciplinary nautical courses—sailing, windsurf, sea kayak and paddle surf—in the protected waters of the Bay of Melilla. Participants received diplomas after an intensive week of instruction, with the club emphasizing safety, environmental awareness and the development of future water‑sports talent in the city.
