Spain's Castilla‑La Mancha and Uruguay's UAM announce new fruit price ranges

The Castilla‑La Mancha Agricultural Market in Spain opened its melon and watermelon season by publishing indicative price ranges. Extra‑grade melons were quoted at €0.28‑€0.30 per kilogram, while first‑category melons were set at €0.18‑€0.20. For watermelons, the white variety in the first category fetched €0.26‑€0.28 per kilogram, with lower tiers priced between €0.13‑€0.15. The market stressed that these figures are informational and non‑binding, serving only as a market reference.

In Uruguay, the Metropolitan Agro‑Food Unit (UAM) reported a decline in mandarin prices alongside a broad supply of citrus, apples, pears and imported fruits from Brazil, Ecuador, Peru, Chile, Spain and Argentina. Mandarin varieties were priced between $10 and $30 per kilogram, while oranges, lemons and other citrus ranged from $5 to $45 per kilogram. Apples and pears also showed varied price bands, with national varieties listed between $20 and $70 per kilogram. The report highlighted improved market activity following better weather conditions.
