Spain's Climate Emergency Pact gains over 250 signatories
More than 250 organizations have joined Spain’s State Pact against the Climate Emergency during its initial registration phase. The initiative, promoted by the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (Miteco), includes a diverse range of sectors such as agriculture, science, business, labor unions, universities, and environmental groups.
Developed from approximately 4,000 public contributions, the pact is organized into 15 strategic axes of action. Key priorities include improving forest management, establishing national responses to droughts and floods, protecting marine and coastal systems, strengthening emergency services, and combating climate-related disinformation.
Notable signatories include the Union of Small Farmers and Livestock Breeders (UPA), the Spanish Youth Council, environmental organizations such as WWF and SEO/BirdLife, and research centers like CIEMAT. The registration process has remained open since July 27.
